Terms of Service: Great Gadgets (GG-Bot & GEM)

Scope: These Terms apply to the Great Gadgets product family operated by YD Great Media, comprising GG-Bot (the Discord application) and GEM (the web-based companion at ydgreatmedia.com).

1. Overview

GG-Bot ("the bot", "the service") is a Discord bot that provides gaming information — game details, pricing, deals, Steam library tools, and live-stream alerts — within Discord servers. It is free to use.

By adding GG-Bot to your Discord server, or by using any of its slash commands, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the bot.

These terms apply to both individual users invoking bot commands and to server administrators who add the bot to their guilds.

2. Who operates the service

GG-Bot is operated by YD Great Media, a sole-trader business based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, owned and run by Neville (the "operator"). ABN 97 516 623 849. Contact details are provided in Section 12.

3. License to use

Subject to your compliance with these terms, the operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use GG-Bot within Discord for your personal or server community purposes.

This licence does not give you any ownership rights in the bot, its code, or its data infrastructure.

4. No payment required

GG-Bot is free to use. The operator does not charge for access to the service. No subscription, credit, or payment of any kind is required to run slash commands or add the bot to a server.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use GG-Bot only for its intended purpose — querying gaming data within Discord — and in a manner that complies with:

You must not:

  • Automate interactions with GG-Bot in a way that generates artificially high request volumes, scrapes data, or circumvents rate limits.
  • Attempt to probe, test, or exploit vulnerabilities in the bot or its backend infrastructure.
  • Use the bot to harass, defame, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to retrieve data belonging to other users beyond what the bot intentionally surfaces (e.g., public leaderboards).
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the bot's source code from its deployed infrastructure.
  • Use the bot in a server that hosts or promotes illegal content.

The operator reserves the right to add further restrictions to this list as needed. Where possible, changes will be communicated in advance.

6. Linking your Steam account

The /gg link command connects your Discord user ID to your Steam account. This is entirely voluntary.

By linking your Steam account, you confirm that:

  • You own or have authority to use that Steam account.
  • You understand that GG-Bot will read publicly visible information from that Steam profile via the Steam Web API.
  • Your Steam privacy settings (not GG-Bot) determine which data is visible. If you set your library or profile to private, the bot cannot see it.

Steam account linking is at your sole discretion and risk. The operator is not responsible for any consequences arising from linking your Steam account, including but not limited to changes in the visibility of your Steam data.

To unlink your account and remove all associated data, run /gg link action:unlink-clear at any time.

7. Third-party data sources

GG-Bot retrieves data from third-party services — including Steam (Valve), IsThereAnyDeal, CheapShark, and SteamSpy — to power its features. The set of services we use may change over time. Queries to these services are made from our infrastructure; your identity is not transmitted to them.

The operator does not control these services and is not responsible for:

  • The accuracy, availability, or completeness of data returned by them.
  • Any changes those services make to their APIs, policies, or data that affect GG-Bot's functionality.
  • Any outages, errors, or incorrect prices or game information originating from those third parties.

Game pricing data is for informational purposes only. Do not make purchasing decisions based solely on prices displayed by GG-Bot without verifying them directly on the relevant storefront.

8. No warranty — service provided "as is"

GG-Bot is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The operator does not guarantee that:

  • The bot will be available at any particular time or without interruption.
  • Data returned by the bot is accurate, current, or complete.
  • The bot will be free of bugs, errors, or security vulnerabilities.
  • The bot will remain available indefinitely.

The operator may take the service offline at any time for maintenance, updates, or any other reason, with or without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of GG-Bot — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — is nil (AUD $0.00).

GG-Bot is a free, non-commercial tool provided as a convenience. No fee is charged, and accordingly no liability is accepted for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from its use or unavailability.

In jurisdictions where a complete exclusion of liability is not permitted, liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, to the extent such exclusions are prohibited by applicable law.

10. Refunds and disputes

Merchant of record

All paid offerings within the Great Gadgets product family — including GEM Pro — are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for these transactions. This means Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing, tax collection and remittance, currency conversion, and invoicing on behalf of YD Great Media. You are transacting with Lemon Squeezy when making a purchase.

Refund requests and disputes

Refunds and payment disputes are administered by Lemon Squeezy in accordance with their published refund and dispute policies. If you wish to request a refund or raise a payment dispute, please contact Lemon Squeezy directly through their customer support channels (see Lemon Squeezy's own refund policy for full details).

YD Great Media may assist by providing relevant transaction context to Lemon Squeezy, but does not process refunds directly.

Effect of a refund on your access

Where a refund is granted, access to the corresponding previously-purchased package — for example, a GEM Pro subscription — will be removed as soon as the refund is applied. Receiving a refund ends your entitlement to the features or access covered by that purchase.

11. Termination

Your rights: You may stop using GG-Bot at any time. A server administrator may remove the bot from their server at any time using Discord's server settings. Running /gg link action:unlink-clear deletes your stored personal data.

Our rights: The operator may, at its discretion, suspend or permanently revoke your access to GG-Bot — or remove the bot from a specific server — at any time and for any reason, including (without limitation) violation of these terms, abusive behaviour, or misuse of the bot's infrastructure.

Where practical, the operator will notify a user or server administrator before taking action. The operator is not obligated to give notice in cases of serious or repeated misconduct, or where notification would be impractical.

Effect of termination: On removal of the bot from a server, guild-level schedule and alert configurations associated with that server are retained in storage but will no longer be processed. If the operator terminates service entirely, these terms cease to apply, but the Privacy Policy obligations regarding data deletion remain in effect.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of GG-Bot shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.

13. Changes to these terms

The operator may update these terms from time to time. When changes are made:

  • The version number and effective date at the top of this document will be updated.
  • A notice will be posted on the GG-Bot landing page at https://www.ydgreatmedia.com/gg-bot.html.
  • For material changes that reduce your rights, at least 14 days' advance notice will be given where possible.

Continued use of GG-Bot after an updated set of terms takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree with a change, remove the bot from your server and/or stop using it before the effective date.
